How to Collect Video Messages From Wedding Guests (Without Hiring a Videographer)
A simple, low-stress system for gathering heartfelt video messages from your guests — what to set up, what to say to guests, and when to send the link.

Most couples never hear the things their guests would actually say. The toast gets cut short, an uncle never gets the microphone, and the friends who couldn't travel send a card instead of a message you can keep.
Collecting video messages fixes that. Here is the system we recommend to every couple, in the order that works best.
Start with one link and one QR code
You do not need an app, a camera crew or a hashtag. Guests open your link on their own phone, tap record and talk for as long as they like. That is the whole guest experience.
Your event gets a unique link and a matching QR code the moment you create it. Print the QR code on table tent cards, or share the link by text message, email or on your invitation.
Ask guests in three different ways
People need to be told more than once, so plan for three touches:
- On the invitation or save-the-date. One line is enough: "We're collecting video messages — scan the code at the reception or record yours any time at the link below."
- At the reception. Table tent cards do the work for you. Put one on every table, and one near the bar or the photo spot.
- The week before and the day after. Email your guest list directly from your event dashboard. Guests who cannot attend get the same chance to leave a message.
Give guests a prompt
The blank page is the enemy. A short prompt gets a real message instead of an awkward ten seconds of silence. Try one of these:
- "What is one piece of advice you'd give us?"
- "Tell us your favourite memory of one of us."
- "What do you wish for us in the years ahead?"
Write your chosen prompt on the table tent card next to the QR code.
Set aside one minute at the reception
A brief announcement works wonders. Ask your DJ or MC to say something like: "Grab your phone, scan the card on your table, and leave the couple a video message. It takes thirty seconds and they'll keep it forever."
Then leave it alone. Messages arriving during the reception are the ones that feel the most alive.
Keep the messages in one private place
Every video lands in your private gallery automatically. No one else can see it, and you can delete anything you would rather not keep. Nothing about your guest list or your videos is public.
Download before your gallery closes
Your gallery stays open for 30 days after the event date, then it is removed automatically. Download the individual clips you love, or grab them all in high resolution before the window closes.
If you want a shorter version to share, create a highlight reel from the clips you downloaded.
What this costs
One flat payment covers your event: unlimited video messages, unlimited downloads, no per-video fees. See what's included.
